The historic bridge over the Boruje River in Bytów in Kashubia was built around 1884. It was one of the elements of the railway line to run from Bytów to Miastko. Its construction began at the end of the nineteenth century, however, it was not completed, so no train ever passed the bridge. The design of the bridge is similar to the Roman aqueducts, which were the inspiration for architects. It consists of six brick arch spans supported on masonry granite supports. At the top of the pillars of the building there are reliefs made of sandstone depicting the characteristic coats of arms of the Prussian Railways, the cities of Bytów, Pomerania, the Third Reich and Prussia. Despite the fact that it has never been used, until today the bridge impresses with its facade, diligence and rich ornamentation, which distinguishes the building among the railway bridges not only of old Prussia, but of all of Europe.
